Mission Statement
Provide, free of charge, the highest quality multi sensory reading and written language tutorial services for children with dyslexia, through a network of nationally recognized centers of excellence.

Promote and encourage education of professionals, scholars, and the public, to become resources in teaching children to read.

Advance scientific knowledge of dyslexia through support of clinical research to improve today's standards and tomorrow's care.

Since its opening in April 2001, the Providence Masonic Learning Center for Children can provide the following statistics:
  • 144 – Children have received services
  • 63– Children have successfully completed the program
  • 26 – Children are currently enrolled
  • 63 – Scholar/trainees have received training
  • 38 – Scholar/trainees have earned Initial Level Certification
  • 6 – Paid tutors trained at the Providence Learning Center
  • 1 - Volunteer Tutor
  • 41 – Children are currently on the waiting list
  • 9 – Scholars have earned Advanced Level Certification in Orton-Gillingham 
  • 7 – Scholar/trainees working toward Initial Level Certification in Orton-Gillingham N.B.
    This training class will begin August 2010. It will be the 11th training class offered at the Providence Learning Center.
The tutoring services offered at the Masonic Learning Centers for Children are intensive, thorough, year-round and successful. The ability to read fluently has transformed the lives of the children and their families.
